Pye Corner Audio feat. Andy Bell – Euphoria (Maps Remix)
Around the three-minute mark, the arpeggiated synths drop in and the whole thing takes off. Up to then, James Chapman’s Maps remix of “Euphoria” has been patient, letting Andy Bell’s guitar hang in the air. After it, the track turns into something built for a dancefloor, without losing the shoegaze blur that made the original work.
“Euphoria” opens Pye Corner Audio’s “More Songs About The Sun”, released in June to coincide with the summer solstice and a sequel of sorts to 2022’s “Let’s Emerge!”. Bell, of Ride, plays guitar on it. The original was recorded and mixed by The Head Technician at Black Mill and mastered by Antony Ryan. Chapman’s version is the second in a series of remixes from the album, out now digitally on Sonic Cathedral.
